points needs against De Graafschap
By: Porter | December 13th, 2008Heerenveen’s up and down season need to continue the upswing following last weeks victory over Willem II. Now seventh in the stacked and packed Eredivisie table, three points over De Graafschap is crucial and could see them leap over Groningen who face the power-packed Twente side. Rumours of Trond Sollied moving on to the Norway position have created a massive distraction and his side will need to stay focused today. However without a doubt the best remedy for one of the worst defending sides in the Eredivisie will be De Graafschap, who are one of the worst in the attack.
Trond Sollied heads into the match without some of his key components including Danijel Pranjić, Geert Arend Roorda, Bonaventure Kalou with doubts regarding Gerald Sibon and Mika Väyrynen. De Graafschap’s manager Henk van Stee receives a big boost with Joost Volmer returning from suspension as the veteran is likely to key heavily in defending tactics. However he will be without Rene Bot, Appie Chaiat,Mees Siers and Cerezo Fung a Wing.
Although I am not prone to saying any match is “easy”, this is likely one of the best clubs for Heerenveen to face as they are very prone to the attack. Now if Vitesse can come up big against PSV tomorrow and Twente defeat Groningen, we’ll be in a tie for fourth at the end of the day.
