By: Porter | December 28th, 2008
Following the disappointing 4-1 loss to Sparta Rotterdam, Trond Sollied leads his club against FC Groningen with both clubs looking to draw level to NAC Breda a fifth place and only a point behind PSV.
With the match the final clash before the break both clubs are ripe with notable exclusions that could easily make the difference. Heerenveen will be without number one goalkeeper Kenny Steppe along with Geert-Arend Roorda and Andre Hanssen while Michel Breuer is doubtful. Groningen manager Ron Jans will be troubled with a number of exclusions, including Petter Andersson, Evgeniy Levchencko, Brian van Loo,Sepp de Roover and Jeroen Veldmate as well as suspended Martijn Meerdink.
With both clubs able to put the ball into the net and with so much on the line the Northern derby will be a hard-fought battle.

Great win for H’veen! On the road and with lots of goals as usual. Great stuff.
Do you think they may pick up MF Sasha Kleijstan of MLS? I heard a rumor about that.
